PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT
The
California Science Education Conference offers two unique professional
development opportunities for teachers. Upper division university credit
and a certificate of completion are available.
No
Child Left Behind Professional Development Strand:
Veteran teachers and new teachers alike will have the opportunity to participate
in the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Professional Development
strand, which is designed to help all teachers meet the “highly
qualified teacher” requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act.
Courses will be offered in the areas of earth/space science, physical
science, and life science. Teachers may focus on one content area for
an in-depth learning experience, or they may attend a variety of events
covering all three. University credit from CSU Long Beach will be available.
