About
Dennis Fox
Dennis Fox is the Senior Project Director for the Center
on Assessment and Accountability, at the Los Angeles County
Office of Education. His work focuses on standards, assessment,
and data analysis, and how they can be used to guide instructional
decision-making and increase student learning. He provides
teachers and administrators with user-friendly tools and strategies
for organizing, analyzing, interpreting, and using data to
improve instructional practice and leadership.
Dennis consults with schools, school districts, county and
regional education offices, state departments of education,
and the U.S. Department of Education. He is also a frequent
speaker at local, state, and national conferences.
Dennis has authored many articles on standards, assessment,
and data analysis. He recently completed a six-part video
series and facilitator guide, Using
Classroom Data to Improve Student Achievement. His most recent publication is, Look Before You Leap:
A Guide for Selecting Alternative Forms of Governance and
Restructuring for Program Improvement Year 4 Schools (2005).
Dennis worked for 25 years, K-12, as a teacher, counselor,
assistant principal, elementary school principal, and middle
school principal. He has also taught classes at numerous universities
and colleges.
