About Kenneth Wesson

Kenneth Wesson delivers keynote addresses on the neuroscience of learning for educational organizations and institutions throughout the United States and overseas. His audiences range from pre-school and early childhood specialists to college and university-level faculty members and administrators. His recent international audiences have included educators and chief administrative officers from North America, South America, Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Northern Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa. He has spoken to educators from six of the world's seven continents and can be seen on PBS and other special programs on brain development.

Wesson regularly addresses psychological, medical, and educational associations, as well as parenting organizations and civic groups on establishing "Brain-considerate" learning environments. In addition to his seminars on learning, Wesson also speaks on the topics of brain development, diversity in learning, the Neuropsychology of prejudice, curriculum development, effective teaching strategies, and how children learn. He is also frequently asked to serve as an expert witness in court cases involving brain trauma and memory.

Wesson's recent work has included delivering addresses to the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; the National Symposium for Scientists and Engineers; the American Society for Investigative Pathology; the International Brain Education Association; the Korean Institute of Brain Science; the National Science Research Council; the American Association of Anatomists; the Summer Institute for the National Academy of Sciences; the American Society for Microbiology; the American Physiological Society; the Distinguished Scientist Lecture Series; the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives; the Stanford Neurosciences Institute; the First Annual Brain Conference of the Pacific Northwest; the Association of College and University Biologists; the Science Teachers Association of New York State (whose other speakers have included Dr. Joycelyn Elders, the former U.S. Surgeon General and Dr. Richard Roberts of Great Britain, the recipient of the 1993 Nobel prize for Physiology/Medicine); the Alabama Science Teachers Association; the Johnson and Johnson Corporation; the IBM Corporation; the Alabama Governor's Summit on Mathematics and Science Education; the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA); the Hawaiian Association for Counselors and Educators in Government; the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (sponsored by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences); the National Alliance of Business; Head Start; the Great Teachers' Seminars; the National Science Foundation's Systemic Initiatives for Math and Science; the IDATER (International Design and Technology Educational Research and Curriculum Development) Conference in England, and numerous American colleges and universities.

He has been a keynote speaker for several of the leading international educational organizations for American and International schools, including the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA), the Association of American Schools in South America (AASSA), the Central and Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA), the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS), the Near East South Asia schools (NESA), along with numerous American educational organizations, school districts, and colleges.

The audiences that Wesson will address this year range from the educators in Asia to Central America. He will also deliver keynote addresses for the Georgia Science Teachers Association, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Mississippi Science Teachers Association.
