EXHIBIT HALL LOCATION:

Exhibitor Registration will be located in the Palm Springs Convention Center Lobby of the Palm Springs Convention Center.

The Exhibit Hall is Oasis 1 and 2 of the Palm Springs Convention Center (277 N. Avenida Caballeros, Palm Springs, CA 92262). The front/main entrance to the convention center is located off of Alvarado Road.

INFORMATION & SPECIFICATIONS

Conference Audience
Science educators, from all grade levels and science disciplines, K-University. They teach life science, earth science, physical science, environmental science, marine science, integrated science, and interdisciplinary studies. Many of the attendees are leaders at their schools and in their districts. Many make purchasing decisions or have influence in the purchasing process.

Exhibiting Companies
The types of companies that exhibit at the California Science Education Conference include textbook publishers, lab equipment suppliers, software companies, classroom equipment manufacturers, professional development organizations, state agencies, parks, museums, and a host of other companies that supply materials, equipment, and services to science educators and schools.

*NEW* Selling Products or Taking Orders at the Conference
The City of Palm Springs requires a temporary business license for the general sale of any merchandise at the Palm Springs Convention Center. This includes order taking. If your company already possesses a City of Palm Springs Business License, it is not necessary to order a temporary one. Temporary licenses are $8.25 per day ($24.75 for the entire conference). In order to obtain a temporary business license you must also have a California resale number. Temporary resale licenses (good for 30 days) are available from the California Board of Equalization: http://www.boe.ca.gov/info/reg.htm. Please include payment to CSTA for the City of Palm Springs temporary business license, along with your California resale number, with your exhibit application and contract. CSTA will submit the payment for all exhibitors and the application for the licenses 30 days in advance of the conference. Booth Reservations
Booth reservations will accepted on-line starting March 2. Booth reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations made without accompanying payment will be held for 30 days. If no payment is received within 30 days of the reservation being made, the space will be released for sale.

Show Decorator
The official show decorator is GES. GES will provide you with shipping instructions and order forms for booth furniture, carpet, electrical, and other services after your booth is confirmed and at least 6 weeks before the start of the show. Download Service Kit

Refundable Compliance Deposit
Out of fairness to all exhibitors, and in order to meet the expectations of conference registrants, all booth exhibits must remain fully intact and staffed until 3:30 pm on Saturday, October 24, 2009. Any exhibitor who dismantles any part of his or her booth exhibit prior to the official closing time will forfeit the compliance deposit in full. Exhibitors who comply with the hours and regulations of the exhibit hall will be refunded their deposit within six weeks after the conference

Non-Profit Tables
A limited number of tables in the exhibit hall will be made available to non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations, for the purpose of distributing free literature and promoting their cause or organization with displays. Restrictions: The organization may not sell or take orders for any products that are for sale. Displays may not project beyond the edge of the table and may not exceed three feet in height. Display materials will not be permitted in front of, behind, or next to the table. Non-profit organizations will receive limited access passes for the exhibit hall only. If your organization's staff wishes to have full conference privileges, they must register as conference attendees. A conference registration brochure will be sent upon request.

Decorators Union Jurisdiction
Union jurisdictions prevail over all set-up and dismantling of exhibits including signs and laying of carpet. This does not apply to the unpacking and placement of your merchandise. Any installation of exhibits or displays which requires the use of hand tools, or more than one person, or longer than thirty minutes, (including crating and uncrating) to install, or exceeds ten feet in any direction, shall be installed by Union personnel. One full-time exhibiting company employee may supervise work with the Union crew.

Teamsters Union Jurisdiction
Members of this local claim jurisdiction on the operation of all material handling equipment, all unloading and reloading, and handling of empty containers. An exhibitor may move material that can be hand-carried by one person in one trip without the use of dollies, hand trucks, or other mechanical equipment.

Electricians Union
Responsible for assembly, installation, and dismantle of anything that uses electricity as a source of power. This includes electrical wiring, hook-ups, interconnections, etc.

Teamsters Union
Handle all material in and out of the hall. Exhibitors are permitted to hand carry small packages into the hall.

Decorators Union
Handle the hanging of all non-electrical signs, drapes, and cloth installation and tacked fabric panels.

Plumbers Union
Handle all plumbing works such as compressed air, water drains, or natural gas.
