INFORMATION & SPECIFICATIONS
Conference Audience
Approximately 2,500 science educators, from all grade
levels and science disciplines, K-University. They teach
life science, earth science, physical science, environmental
science, marine science, integrated science, and interdisciplinary
studies. Many of the attendees are leaders at their
schools and in their districts. Many make purchasing
decisions or have influence in the purchasing process.
Exhibiting Companies
The types of companies that exhibit at the California
Science Education Conference include textbook publishers,
lab equipment suppliers, software companies, classroom
equipment manufacturers, professional development organizations,
state agencies, parks, museums, and a host of other
companies that supply materials, equipment, and services
to science educators and schools.
Commercial Workshops
Only confirmed exhibitors my present a commercial workshop.
Commercial workshops are now being accepted on-line.
Booth Reservations
Booth reservations are now being accepted on-line.
Booth reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served
basis. Reservations made without accompanying payment
will be held for 30 days. If no payment is received
within 30 days of the reservation being made, the space
will be released for sale.
Show
Decorator
The official show decorator is GES. GES will provide
you with shipping instructions and order forms for booth
furniture, carpet, electrical, and other services after
your booth is confirmed and at least 6 weeks before
the start of the show.
Refundable
Compliance Deposit
Out of fairness to all exhibitors, and in order to meet
the expectations of conference registrants, all booth
exhibits must remain fully intact and staffed until
3:30 pm on Saturday, November 1, 2008 . Any exhibitor
who dismantles any part of his or her booth exhibit
prior to the official closing time will forfeit the
compliance deposit in full. Exhibitors who comply with
the hours and regulations of the exhibit hall will be
refunded their deposit within six weeks after the conference

Non-Profit
Tables
A limited number of tables in the exhibit hall will
be made available to non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations,
for the purpose of distributing free literature and
promoting their cause or organization with displays.
Restrictions: The organization may not sell or take
orders for any products that are for sale. Displays
may not project beyond the edge of the table and may
not exceed three feet in height. Display materials will
not be permitted in front of, behind, or next to the
table. Non-profit organizations will receive limited
access passes for the exhibit hall only. If your organization's
staff wishes to have full conference privileges, they
must register as conference attendees. A conference
registration brochure will be sent upon request.
Decorators Union Jurisdiction
Union regulations prevail over all set-up and dismantling
of exhibits, including hanging of signs and laying of
carpet. Any installation of exhibits or displays which
requires the use of hand tools, or more than one person,
or longer than thirty minutes (including crating and
uncrating) to install, or exceeds ten feet in any direction,
shall be installed by Union personnel. This does not
apply to the unpacking and placement of your merchandise.
One full-time exhibiting company employee may supervise
the work with the Union crew.
Material Handling Union
Jurisdiction
Union regulations prevail over the operation of all
material handling equipment, unloading and reloading
of material and equipment, and handling of empty containers.
An exhibitor may move material that can be hand-carried
by one person in one trip without the use of dollies,
hand trucks, or other mechanical equipment.
Electricians Union – Truss
and Lighting
TSE is responsible for supervision, assembly, and removal
of truss assemblies for lighting, audio-visual equipment,
and special effects, whether hanging or floor-standing.
All power, electrical labor orders, and additional requirements
for such equipment must be placed through TSE as the
electrical contractor. A representative from your company
may be present during the assembly or the installation/removal
of your truss or lighting.
