Q: I want to register at the Early-Bird Rate, but I won't be able to secure funding from my district or school until the fall. Can I still register at the Early-Bird rate?

A: No. All registrations must be accompanied by payment (see accepted forms of payment above) in full at the time of registration. If payment is not received in full prior to the discount cut-off date, the rate for your registration will be automatically increased to the prevailing rate.

Q: My school district has approved my request to attend the conference but the purchase order will not be processed by the registration deadline. If I pay the conference fees myself, will I be refunded after CSTA receives payment from my school district?

A: Yes, CSTA will refund any funds that were submitted by you once payment has been received from your school district. We recommend you submit your payment with a credit card which will allow us to process your refund more quickly.

Q: Are registration fees transferable?

A: Yes! In fact, if you are registered for the conference and then find that you cannot attend yourself, we encourage you to send a colleague in your place along with a signed letter stating you wish to transfer your registration fee.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Requests for refunds of any conference registration fees due to cancellation of conference participation will be honored ONLY if made in writing and received prior to October 30, 2008. Refunds are subject to a $25 processing fee. No refunds will be issued for amounts under $25. Refunds will not be processed at the conference site, and there will be no refunds for no-shows. You will receive your refund via mail by December 15, 2008. In the event that a ticketed event you select is sold-out or unavailable, you will be given the option of applying the funds to another available event or receiving a refund. If you choose to receive a refund and you paid by credit card or purchase order, your credit card charge or invoice will be adjusted accordingly. If you paid by check, a check refund will be issued.

Q: I've pre-registered for the conference. Will I receive my conference materials in the mail?

A: You will receive a registration confirmation postcard in the mail but the actual conference materials will not be mailed. The entire conference schedule will be available on the CSTA web site beginning in May. The schedule is searchable by presenter name, subject matter, grade level, professional development strand, and day. CSTA encourages you to view the on-line schedule and plan your participation prior to the conference. Pre-registered attendees may report directly to the Pre-Registration counter and pick up their conference materials.

Q: Can I bring my child to the conference with me?

A: While we recognize that some events may be of some interest to children, our primary concern is for the enjoyment and benefit of our adult attendees. It is not our intention to prohibit attendance by children; however, CSTA assumes no liability for the actions, supervision, care taking, or well being of children. Any children brought to a CSTA event must be accompanied at all times by their parent or adult guardian. Children are required to register for the conference. Children's registration provides admission only to the same activities as the spouse/partner registration.
