California Classroom Science

California Classroom Science (CCS), CSTA's signature publication, is now published electronically. It includes all the great features you've enjoyed in the printed version, packaged in a more interactive, useful way.

CCS is packed with information, news, resources, ideas, and activities of current interest to science educators. CCS is delivered to CSTA members electronically via e-mail and is available on our website for all to enjoy. Check it out! CSTA welcomes contributions, suggestions, and stories from its members. We welcome comments on items published and on science issues in general. All submissions must be submitted electronically. Attach a Word document to an email and send to CSTA reserves the right to edit all materials submitted for length and content.

Guidelines for Submission to California Classroom Science

  • use bulleted lists rather than numbered
  • include a title for your article
  • aim for about 750-1,000 words, spell-checked, and proofread
  • include your title, school, and contact email address
  • include captions for photos/illustrations and explicitly state whose work they are (be sure they are not copyrighted)
  • embed links to referenced web pages.
  • please observe published submission deadlines — (1st of the month prior to publication) - late submissions will not be included
  • articles must use Next Generation Science Standards. The use of old science stanadards within an article will NOT be accepted
  • CSTA reserves the right to accept or reject all submissions
