2016 California Science Education Conference Commercial Workshop Proposals

Platinum Sponsor:

OCTOBER 21-23, 2016 • Palm Springs, CA

CSTA is now accepting proposals from confirmed exhibitors for commercial workshops for the 2016 California Science Education Conference in Sacramento. Only confirmed exhibitors may present a commercial workshop. Proposals from non-exhibiting companies will not be considered. Exhibit booth reservations can be made online.

Please read the information on this page fully before you begin the proposal process. We recommend that you print this page.

Before you begin the commercial workshop proposal process, please have ready:

  1. Your CSTA log-in information (encouraged, not required).

  2. A detailed description of your commercial workshop for the review committee. Please describe activities, materials used, lecture outline, and any other information that describes the content and format of your session. We recommend that you cut and paste from a word processing program.

Commercial Workshop Proposal Submission Guidelines

Commercial workshops are 90-minutes in length. Commercial workshops are held concurrently with non-commercial workshops on the Friday and Saturday of the conference. Commercial workshop rooms are set classroom style with 6' - 8' tables and chairs.

There is no compensation for commercial workshop presenters. Commercial workshop presenters will be provided with a badge as an exhibitor only. Commercial workshop presenters will not be issued a separate conference presenter badge.

Commercial workshop presenters are NOT reimbursed for the cost of materials used in their session, nor are they reimbursed for meals, airfare, lodging, or any other travel-related expenses.

The lead presenter is the person submitting the proposal. The lead presenter will have the opportunity to add one co-presenter to the workshop description before the program is printed. The co-presenter is listed in the program but does not receive any compensation or correspondence from CSTA. The co-presenter must also be included in the list of booth staff for the exhibiting company.

Presentation Fee
There is a fee of $150 per 90-minute workshop. This fee must be paid by July 15, 2016.

Commercial workshop proposals must be submitted by June 10, 2016. Late submissions will be considered on a space-available basis but may not appear in the conference registration or promotional materials. All proposals will be evaluated by the review committee and not all proposals will be accepted. Please note that we receive many more proposals than we are able to accept.
